Results Day. It’s always a long one, isn’t it? The advanced guard Cubed team opened up at 5:30 am to prep together to ensure they were ready. And many of our colleagues were up early joining our client base on campus – to be close to the action. So, a long day, but a good day. And a chance for us at Cubed to all be focused on the same thing at the same time. Everyone who can come into the office does so. Even if their role is not directly connected to the day itself – support and teamwork are integral parts of Clearing. Music plays all day (somewhat questionable tunes tbh, a bit light on the 80s and no Duran Duran yet!). It’s a testament to our team spirit.

Months of meticulous research and meetings with Google, Meta and TikTok come into play – and our media champions expertly aligned campaigns to make sure they cut through the noise. The competition was fierce and it was busy, but our understanding of the market and behaviours is top-notch, which led to a successful day for the team.

It’s full-on, but we are well fed & watered whilst we analyse, discuss, update and check progress. Normally we order a pizza or two, but sushi was on the menu this time!

This year has felt (to me anyway) like a “normal” Results Day as we ease our way out of the post-pandemic upheavals. Our pals at DataHE demonstrated that there is strong demand from 18-year-olds which we are seeing reflected in enquiries. Broadly, we ensured that our client base was ready early and maximised the “golden zones” (peak periods for calls – based on prior years’) and all seems to have gone smoothly.

This year was a little different to the usual routine for me. I was at home first thing as my 18-year-old daughter received her results today and – smiles all around – she’s off to university in September. A long day then for the Cubed team – and an even longer night celebrating for my girl and her mates.

Results Day is always a whirlwind, but the collective effort and talent showcased by the Cubed team make great outcomes happen for our clients. It’s a true showcase of the skill, dedication and passion we have for HE. As we reflect on the day, we’re looking forward to taking our knowledge and experience further and building on this year’s successes to provide even more wins for our clients throughout the rest of the year and beyond!
